GENERAL INFORMATION

Qualifications:
The 2008 Al Hammell Fundamental Baseball Camps are open to all area players 5 to 12 years of age that are interested in improving their sports skills. Teams and instructional groups will be determined by age and level of ability.

Instruction:
Al Hammell will be on site all day and lead the instruction at all camps. The 2008 Al Hammell Fundamental Baseball Camps staff will include competent instructors and counselors, all with backgrounds in each specific sport, who will take a personal/individual interest in each camper's development throughout the week. All camps will provide campers with the opportunity to apply learned fundamental skills during daily game play.

Equipment:
Each camper should bring the following items to camp:

Baseball Camp: 

Fielding glove, baseball cap, rubber-cleated shoes or sneakers, and baseball attire. (Catcher's equipment and extra aluminum bats will be provided)

   

 

 

All items that are brought to camp should be labeled with camper's first & last name.
Water will be provided on the playing fields throughout the day for all campers.

Lunch/Snack:
1/2 Day Campers: A snack and juice will be provided daily for all 1/2 day campers.
Full Day Campers: All full-day campers are encouraged to bring a bag lunch to camp. All bag lunches will be refrigerated on site. There will also be opportunity to order pizza and drinks at the beginning of each camp day.

Swimming (Beekman site only):
All full-day Beekman campers will have supervised access to the fully life-guarded Beekman Recreation Center Waterfront for an optional free-swim each afternoon.
Any full-day Beekman campers wishing to swim should bring a swimsuit, flip-flops and towel to camp.


CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Baseball For Beginners
Ages 5-6 (9am-12pm)
The Baseball For Beginners program is a 1/2 day program designed to provide an introduction to the game of baseball to 5 & 6 yr. old players. *Mon.-Thurs. (Fri. Rain-date)
 
Baseball Camp
Ages 7-12 (9am-4pm)
The Fundamental Baseball Camp is designed to provide players who want to concentrate on the sport of baseball with a high-level of offensive and defensive instruction. *Mon.-Fri.
Counselor in Training Ages 13-16 (8:30am-4:30pm)           Baseball Camp The CIT Program is designed to provide teens the opportunity to learn the skills to become a camp counselor and teach the game of baseball. The program will be under the direct supervision of Camp Director Al Hammell.
